glow

last weekend b and i went to glow in santa monica. it was such a fun and interesting event with art installations on pacific palisades park and the beach. my favorite was definitely shapednoise (read about it here), the foam was so mesmerizing and peaceful even with all of the craziness of the event.

colette + hermes

this morning's email from colette made me want to book a flight to paris immediately. visiting colette is one of my favorite things to do in paris (plus it's just a few blocks from goyard) and when i saw these hermes scarves exclusive to colette i was so tempted, but a 5,000 mile scarf fueled journey might be a little excessive.

brides de gala and polka dots, what could be better?
check out colette's description of the partnership:
An event! Hermès moves in at colette from September 27th to October 16th. In addition to a selection from the Fall-Winter collection, the orange box will offer some colette exclusives: the classic Brides de Gala in two shades, the patchwork (each scarf is unique!) And alosange in cashmere and silk. Do not leave without your I love my Hermès scarf fanzine to follow the adventures of the scarf in New York, Paris, London and Tokyo!

art

this weekend i helped my dear friend seth find a new couch. it took lots of driving, sweating and dairy queen, but we finally found him a fabulous couch. and now, after buying something new for seth's apartment, i've got the bug to jazz up my own living room. i think my focus has landed on some new art, what do you think of these options?

ps do you know any details of college art students showing/selling their work? i'd love to support young, local artists but i don't know where to find them!

terrain

the garden is definitely not my place of expertise, but shopping online at terrain makes me want to try a little harder. i'm thinking if i had some cuter gear i would kill fewer plants.

love

at walnut paperie we just finished two really fun jobs - both using kimberly's world famous collage design. we think it is probably the cutest piece we have ever designed and now i spend my days thinking of how i can incorporate this design into anything and everything. invitations? baby showers? gossip girl watching party? yes, yes and yes!

football + pizza

b and i have finally found the perfect compromise for college football season - i entertain myself during the games and b cooks me dinner. this weekend he made the most delicious pizza i have ever tasted, outside of american flatbread in los alamos. with potatoes, fontina, caramelized onions, arugula and homemade balsamic vinaigrette, i can not think of anything better. this pizza almost makes me wish for college football every night.

ostrich

i die for this ostrich feather chandelier from south african designer haldane martin. but since i don't have an extra $3,000 lying around i'm thinking i should buy some ostrich feathers and try my hand at this project. at ostrich.com i can buy 1,800 feathers for $450. i think that is probably enough feathers to make a feather chandelier for each room in the house.

guns

i have a very intense fear of guns - i can't even look at them on tv, but when i saw these felt guns from sarah applebaum they made me so happy. i'm dying to see them in person.
